  • Introduction to Computers
    Learn to use the mouse and keyboard, how to turn the computer on and off correctly, and other basic skills. For beginners; no experience necessary. A follow-up mouse practice class is available.
  • Wordpad
    Learn to type using a basic word processor – a first step to e-mail and Internet use. Must have mouse skills.
  • Introduction to Microsoft Word
    Learn to use the computer for writing letters and other documents. Includes correcting mistakes, spell checking, formatting documents, saving your work and more. For beginners; must have mouse skills. A follow up Word practice class is available.
  • Microsoft Word 2007 In-Depth
    A more advanced Microsoft Word class. Must have previous Word experience.
  • Introduction to Microsoft Excel 2007
    Learn to create and use Microsoft Excel 2007's spreadsheets to keep track of your budget easily. Experience with word processing required.
  • Introduction to Microsoft Powerpoint
    Learn to create professional-looking multimedia presentations quickly and easily with Microsoft PowerPoint. For intermediate users; previous computer experience required.
  • Computer Protection and Maintenance
    This class will cover topics such as: hard drive maintenance; how to clean your computer, monitor, mouse and keyboard; anti-virus software; and spyware and adware removal.
  • Introduction to the Internet
    Learn how to use a browser to navigate the WWW using addresses (URLs), categories, a subject directory, and search engines, as well as how to work in multiple windows. Must have mouse skills.
  • Introductory New E-mail
    Learn the basic concepts of email, how to send attachments and links, use the address book, manage your mail storage with folders, and much more. Must have mouse skills and a new Yahoo! email account.  When registering for this class, staff will set up a time to help you sign-up for a free Yahoo! Account.
  • Selling Online-Auctions and Ecommerce Sites
    Learn the advantages and disadvantages of using eBay. Learn about other online auction and e-commerce sites such as Etsy, Craigslist and onlineauctions.com.
  • Job Hunting on the Internet
    A one-hour course offering "pointers" on using the Internet to search for work. The basic outline may be varied to fit the specific needs of the students.
  • Digital Photography and Online Services
    Learn how to transfer your pictures from your camera, edit your pictures and set up a Snapfish account.
  • Ellis Island Records
    Learn how to search for passengers on ships that arrived at the port of New York from 1892-1924.
  • HeritageQuest
    HeritageQuest combines searchable images of U.S. Census records with digitized books containing family and local histories. This demonstration will show you how it works and what you can do with it.
  • Facebook
    This class will introduce students to Facebook, the most popular social networking website in the world.
