In November of 2008 at the Pennsylvania Library Association's annual conference, "Boomer Connections" at Northland Public Library received the 2008 AARP Pennsylvania Library Services for Older Adults Award. Two other Pennsylvania public libraries that received the award are Peters Township Public Library, in McMurray, and the Altoona Area Public Library.

Boomers are being challenged to accept a new role as caregivers for a parent, spouse, or child. Some of us are known as the "sandwiched generation" of caregivers, caring for more than one loved one, usually a parent and child, or a parent and spouse.

Northland Library's Boomer Connections presents series of workshops and panel discussions to help you explore the answers to these questions. These sessions are presented by speakers and panelists with experience in the field of human resources.
